Plug in with ChargeWise— Electric Vehicle RatesFRD_MachE_Select.png.renditions.original.png

They may be few in number now, but electric vehicles (EVs) have arrived in the lakes area. Electric vehicle owners can save money every time they charge their car with LREC’s ChargeWise EV rates. There are two rate options in ChargeWise: a time-of-use rate, which allows you to choose what time to charge your car and how much you pay; the other is our storage rate, which is the lowest cost option, but only allows charging during certain hours.

NEW! Great River Energy (GRE) is offering free wind energy upgrades for electric vehicles through the REVOLT program! Power your EV with 100% wind generated power for the lifetime of the vehicle, at no extra cost. You'll still pay for the energy you use, but you'll be able to do so knowing that when you go electric, you'll always be green.

How much is the REVOLT promotion worth?
An average EV requires about 4,000 kilowatt-hours a year to get around. So to be certain your energy needs are covered, GRE will be dedicating 5,000 kilowatt-hours a year for the lifetime or lease of your vehicle. If you own your vehicle, that could be up to 50,000 kWh upgraded to wind energy for free.

Next steps
After the purchase or lease of your EV, please fill out this form. To submit your completed form, you can email it to lrec@lrec.coop or send by mail to:

A rebate of up to $500 is available through ChargeWise for the installation of a Level 2 EVSE charging station. This rebate requires that a separate sub-metered circuit be installed to accommodate an Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) charging station, and it must be on our time of use or electric storage rate. Call Energy Management at (800) 552-7658 for more information.
