Local Goverence
At Lake Region Electric Cooperative, decision making is local. Our co-op policies and strategic imperatives are driven by the local directors who have been elected from and by their local peers. Your active involvement is important for a healthy and vibrant cooperative.
Members have a voice in the operation of the cooperative through a member-elected Board of Directors. Directors serve a rotating three-year term, and are nominated during district meetings that generally take place in early February, and are elected during the annual meeting, which usually takes place in early June.

How to Vote
Directors serve three year terms and each year, three of our nine districts are up for an election (see table below to see future rotation). Members of those districts have the opportunity to nominate a director at our district meetings. Prior to the annual meeting, they will receive ballots in the mail, which they can mail in, or they are able to bring them to the annual meeting and place their vote at that time.
Changes to bylaws and articles of incorporation are voted on by the entire membership.
