LREC’s natural gas subsidiary, Lake Region Energy Services (LRES), is continuing to add natural gas to our service territory. Contractor crews from NPL will begin installing gas mains on the east side of Little McDonald Lake in August of this year. The existing gas main on North Little McDonald Drive will be extended to the south to run along East Little McDonald Drive (see map above).
The County Highway 34 road construction project has been postponed until the spring of 2021. This impacts our plans to bring natural gas to certain areas around Little McDonald and Paul Lakes. There are significant savings if we are able to plow in the mains at the same time as the road construction project is taking place. We are hopeful we will be able to bring natural gas service to both the south side of Little McDonald Lake and Paul Lake in the summer of 2021.
We will provide construction information updates for this project on the LRES website at www.lakeregionenergy.com.
