During an outage, lineworkers work all hours of the day and night, often in hazardous conditions away from their families, going above and beyond to restore power to their communities. LREC’s lineworkers are responsible for keeping power flowing day and night, regardless of national holidays, vacations, birthdays, weddings, or other important family milestones.
Beyond the years of specialized training and apprenticeships, it takes internal fortitude and a mission-oriented outlook to be a good lineworker. In fact, this service-oriented mentality is a hallmark characteristic of lineworkers. To honor their hard work and dedication, America’s electric cooperatives designate the second Monday of April as Lineworker Appreciation Day.
“At Lake Region Electric Cooperative, we appreciate the work our lineworkers do for our communities and their commitment to providing reliable electricity,” said Tim Thompson, CEO at LREC.
This year, Lineworker Appreciation Day is April 8th. Join us in thanking our dedicated and talented team of lineworkers who help keep the lights on for us all. Take a moment and acknowledge the many contributions they make to our local community.
